Direct Media awarded for its employees’ volunteering as well
Having won marketing awards at the biggest regional festival of marketing achievements ‘Sempl’ in Portorož, Direct Media has also been awarded for its employees’ volunteering contribution in 2017.
The employees of the Direct Media system have won the recognition ‘Corporate Volunteering Award’ in the ‘Most successful partnership in the local community’ category for the reconstruction of the open-air amphitheatre in the Children’s Village Sremska Kamenica.
Around 50 employees from the Direct Media system have participated in the reconstruction and refurbishment of the amphitheatre situated in the open-air part of the social protection institution ‘Dr Milorad Pavlović’. Having replaced the worn-out concrete, the Direct Media employees painted the amphitheatre in the colours of rainbow mentioned in the Children’s Village hymn. On the same day, a virtual reality projection of the exhibition ‘Experience Tesla’, donated to the Nikola Tesla Museum by the company, was organised for the children in the Village.
The action of refurbishing the amphitheatre lasted for 8 hours, and in the process around 400 m2 of the amphitheatre was painted, the amphitheatre having previously been renovated by Direct Media.
The Direct Media employees volunteer every year, and during their previous volunteering actions, they refurbished over 1000 m2 of space in the Center for the Protection of Children, Infants and Youth and the space in the Drop in Shelter for street involved children in Belgrade and they spent four months empowering women and children in the Safe House shelter in Belgrade.
The corporate volunteering award is granted by the Responsible Business Forum and Smart kolektiv, with the aim of recognising and promoting the best volunteering practices in companies. Recognitions were awarded in several categories, at a ceremony which was part of the CSR Forum 2017, a conference dedicated to corporate social responsibility.
